On the 27th of September 2018, over 200 people listened to the stories of Guy Winship’s life and of his love for humanity. We who worked with him discovered that he was not only a very special leader, but also a caring friend, colleague, relative, husband and father. Many people spoke about Guy’s ability to see and bring out the best in people.
2018 has increased uncertainty for many workers in Australia and elsewhere with numerous organisations announcing major layoffs over the next few years.
In June 2018, telco giant Telstra announced planned cuts of up to 9,500 roles – one of the job cut rounds in Australian corporate history. In February, 2018 National Australia Bank flagged the first of 8,000 jobs to go. Several US companies also announced major planned layoffs.
